West Aussies Shine at Diving Australia 2019 Annual Awards

Published Fri 16 Oct 2020

The Diving Australia Annual Awards took on a different format this year during the global pandemic, but it was still gold, gold, gold for WA representatives, taking home half of the awards presented during the Facebook Live event.

Eliza Cole and Lorraine Keeney were both awarded Excellence in Volunteering for 2019, while Maddison Keeney took home the 2019 Female Athlete of the Year.

Eliza wears many hats in both her local and national communities as a State Judging Coordinator, DWA Honours and Awards Committee Member, Level 6 Judge, Coach and National Technical Committee Member. Eliza’s contribution as a volunteer is invaluable to not only her state organisation, but to Diving Australia as a whole.

Lorraine embodies the values of volunteering. Through her many roles, including Volunteer Events Coordinator and a member of both the Competitions and Honours and Awards Committees for Diving Western Australia. Lorraine’s volunteer extends to many Diving Australia National Championships and across all state and national events she is often the first at the pool and last to leave.

Maddison Keeney had an exceptional 2019, including medals of all shades across multiple events and finishing 2nd overall in the FINA Diving World Series, and winning Bronze in the Women’s 3m Springboard at the FINA World Championships.

Congratulations ladies you continue to be an inspiration for all our members.
