WA shines at 2016 Australian Elite Junior Championships

Published Mon 11 Jul 2016

The WA team of NEPP and WAIS divers put together some great performances over the weekend at the 2016 Australian Elite Junior Championships in Adelaide.

Their performances were consistent throughout the event and saw the team come away with two Gold, four Silver and two Bronze:

Gold - Tamara Irvine (Junior A Girls Platform), Hayley Galvin and Jasmine Barrett (NEPP Level 1 Synchro)

Silver - Nikita Hains (Junior A Girls Platform), Jorja McCall (NEPP Level 1), Zoe Langtry and Jorja McCall (NEPP Level 1 Synchro), Eloise Miller and Lily Madden (SA) (NEPP Level 2 Synchro)

Bronze - Hayley Galvin (NEPP Level 1), Eloise Miller (NEPP Level 2)

The standout event was the Junior A Girls Platform, which saw just 0.10 separate WAIS divers Tamara Irvine and Nikita Hains between Gold and Silver. This performance has also seen both girls selected to represent Australia at the 2016 FINA World Junior Diving Championships in Kazan, Russia later in November this year.

Congratulations to the team and their coaches Mat Helm (WAIS), Kim Hynynen-Furler and Emma Lynch (DWA)
