Partnership with *Ascend Physiotherapy

Published Thu 22 Sep 2016

Diving WA is pleased to announce its second partnership, with a one year agreement with Ascend Physiotherapy.

Ascend Physiotherapy is located within HBF Stadium and offers the highest quality physiotherapy treatment (with a focus on active exercise programs) and massage therapy from elite athletes to every body. Ascend Physiotherapy continues to provide elite sports physiotherapy for associations such as Australian Rowing, the Emirates Western Force and Rugby WA, High Performance Gymnastics, WAIS and soon also Diving WA.

Ascend provide services in Physiotherapy, Taping and Massage. Their physiotherapy consultants:

  • Listen to your story and get a clear understanding of your problem and goals
  • Thoroughly assess your injury and form a diagnosis based on an evidence-based medical model
  • Provide treatment to address the problem, which may include manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation, training advice, postural retraining and strategies to minimise pain and maximise potential
  • Advise you on long term management in order to minimise the amount of treatment required.

Peter Gregory, Managing Partner of Ascend said that, “we are enthusiastic about formalising the relationship with Diving WA. Ascend has been a long time supporter of elite diving in Western Australia and we hope to bring that experience to all members of the diving community. We are looking forward to working closely with the coaches, athletes and families to minimise injury rates and maximise performance and enjoyment of the sport.”

The partnership will see Diving WA members receive a 20% discount on all of Ascends services, and see a closer relationship and network between the physiotherapists and Diving WA coaches.

The Coaches will also have access to TheScreeningLab. This software provides Diving WA a professional level of physical assessment, a level previously only used by physios on elite athletes.  The software has all the normative data and analytics in the backend so it analyses the results specific for your age and gender and automatically generates a graphical report of your physical attributes, including a 6 week exercise program for all the identified weak areas.  The main goal of the process is injury minimisation but over time it will maximise results.

Diving WA CEO Steven Rose said that, “it is great to be able to partner with a reputable and high performing physiotherapy service that work with elite athletes and every body. It was important to provide our members with access to services that assists in preventing injuries and keeping active. It is also a fantastic opportunity for our coaches to work closer with the physiotherapists and learn more about rehabilitation programs and injury minimisation. Diving WA looks forward to strengthening the relationship with Ascend Physiotherapy throughout the agreement.
