"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas"
Published Mon 07 Dec 2015
Diving WA held its last event of 2015, with the Christmas Invitational on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December. The event was also followed by the End of Year Splash BBQ, with a special appearance by Santa.
The Christmas Invitational was a great event with many Age divers achieving qualifying scores for Age Nationals, while it was the first diving competition for many of the Elite divers. The highlight of the event was the Teams Tussle, which saw the athletes have some fun in some relay events. The athletes also managed to get coach Joe Meszaros into the water and dive for the first time since being in Australia.
Thankfully the weather held off for the End of Year Splash BBQ, allowing Santa to come and give out some gifts to the divers (as they had all been very good divers this year).
Thank you to everyone who volunteered and participated over the weekend. Photos from the weekend can be found in the Gallery.
We wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you all back in 2016.
