Healthway On Board For 2018-19
Published Wed 20 Jun 2018
Healthway has strengthened their partnership with Diving WA for the next year, aligning Go for 2&5 with our Dive In programs.
The partnership provides support to Diving WA to offer opportunities for school aged students to take part in the sport of diving, whilst providing further exposure for the sport, and increasing the knowledge and benefits of consuming fruit and vegetables.
The programs include Go For 2&5 Learn to Dive, Go For 2&5 Holiday Splash Program and Go For 2&5 Unearthing Future Champions Schools Program, plus new initiatives such as Go For 2&5 Final Splash, which will be an end of year competition for Learn to Dive participants.
“While 44% of children aged 5-15 years reach the recommended levels of physical activity, only 5.3% of Western Australian children are meeting the recommended daily serve of fruit and vegetables. These sorts of projects are vital to educating and inspiring children and their parents around nutrition and wellbeing” says Sue-Ellen Morphett, the Director of Health Promotion at Healthway.”
Diving WA CEO Steven Rose said that, "it is great to build upon our existing partnership with Healthway. The partnership now encompasses more of our programs and aims to provide school aged students greater access to participate in diving. The Go For 2&5 message aligns with these programs and exposes children to healthy eating and the importance of eating fruit and vegetables."
