Diving WA is excited to announce that following the recruit process, Kamyar Kazemi has been appointed the Development Officer for Diving WA.
Kamyar comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience in diving, having worked in coaching and administration in sport across 3 countries for the past 13 years. Kamyar has also recently completed a Certificate IV and Diploma in Sport Development in his 2 years in Australia. Kamyar will be a familiar name to many in our current community, where he has been coaching with our Learn to Dive, Mini’s and Emerging Talent programs for the past year. Kamyar will continue working in his current coaching capacity, with the addition of the Development Officer position.
Kamyar said: "I am enthusiastic about the new position and can't wait to get started. I look forward to building on the work that has already been done here and bring my knowledge and experience to the role”.
Diving WA CEO Steven Rose said that Kamyar’s appointment is, “the perfect fit for the association. Kamyar is an exceptional coach and has a breadth of knowledge across pathway and program development for the sport. He will bring a great passion and energy to the team and continue to build on the strong relationships he has developed within the community.”
“The role has been able to expand from part-time to full-time thanks to funding through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, and will allow us to continue to build our capacity and capability, ensure we are well placed to maximise the potential of future and sustained growth.”
The role will assist DWA in the development and growth of the sport including participation, school engagement and pathways. Kamyar will begin in the role from October 2021.
