COVID-19 Update – 31.5.20

Published Sun 31 May 2020

Thanks to the hard work of all Western Australians, the state will be moving to Phase 3 restrictions from Saturday 6th June, as announced by the Premier on Friday. This is fantastic news for the state, but we are still not through this and will continue to take a gradual and measured approach in the interest of safety of all members.

Phase 3 restrictions will see gatherings of up to 100 people allowed while still following social distancing measures and see the return of contact training and sport for community sport.

We have been working closely with VenuesWest whilst under the Phase 2 restrictions and getting the dive pool back up and running at HBF Stadium. The pool is currently awaiting sign off from the Health Department, and all going well the pool will be back up and running this week.

We have been planning to welcome WAIS, NTP and possibly STP back under the Phase 2 restrictions from this week, and continuing to work with VenuesWest as to when the new Phase 3 restrictions for HBF Stadium will be brought in.

Once we know more information, we will then be looking to welcome back other squad programs. Again this will still be done in a gradual approach as we continue to follow all of the State Guidelines, along with the DA and DWA “Return to the Pool” Guidelines (to be released shortly) and the VenuesWest COVID Safety Plan. This may see some squads return in June, while others could be July.

We will also be working through what fees may or may not be charged during this gradual return phase, and if aqua card holders will continue to receive free access to HBF Stadium as during Phase 2.

We are hopeful of then welcoming Entry Squad, Learn to Dive and our Adults and Teens Program members back to the pool from Term 3 (mid-July).
