COVID-19 Update – 22.5.20
Published Fri 22 May 2020
To all members,
VenuesWest have today announced that HBF Stadium will be re-opening to members only from Wednesday 27th May and bookings are essential. Current aqua card holders (VenuesWest card used to enter the pool) can enjoy free swimming during set times, while still complying with the government and venue restrictions.
Unfortunately, the works on the dive pool took longer than expected. The pool has now started to be filled and will then require sign off/approval from the Health Department. Expected timeline for the dive pool to potentially be accessible is 1st June.
While we want to see all squads and programs return as soon as possible, to ensure the health and safety of our members and families (and under the current restrictions) we will need to do this in a phased process also. We will be finalising this in the coming week and then make members aware when training will resume for each squad and program.
With the return of facilities, Diving Australia and Diving WA have been developing “Return to the Pool” guidelines which will made available to all members soon. These will work in conjunction with State Government restrictions and provide more diving specific information. As part of this, ALL participants will be required to complete the Department of Health Infection Control Training – COVID-19. The online course can be found here: https://covid-19training.gov.au/login. You will need to REGISTER and then ENROL IN COURSE for the Infection Control Training - COVID 19.
Once complete a copy of the completion certificate must be sent to steven.rose@wadiving.com.au before returning to diving. This must be received at least 12 hours before the divers scheduled return.
There is some light at the end of the tunnel, and we hope to welcome all members back to the pool in the near future. If you have further questions or queries please don’t hesitate to contact me on the above email or call (08) 6424 9090.
Stay safe,
Steven Rose
