COVID-19 Update - 17.3.20

Published Tue 17 Mar 2020

As we continue to work through the ongoing developments of COVID-19, we feel it is important to update our members and add in increased measures to minimise the potential of the infection spreading.

Our communities health is of paramount importance.

With this, we will be implementing the following measures:

  • Coaches are asked to keep their distance from each other and from athletes (at least 1m and preferably 2m).
  • Athletes to follow the same distancing wherever possible.
  • Everyone continue with the good hygiene practices such as regular handwashing; and
  • If anyone is unwell to any level then please don’t attend training.

We are also working to have hand sanitiser available on pool deck and/or in the dryland training area.

Competitions and Training

With the cancellation of a number of sporting events at various levels, we will be discussing our upcoming competitions at our next board meeting on Wednesday.

Diving Australia will also be meeting on Tuesday to discuss National Competitions and we will provide updates to you all as soon as we know more.

Some of the major aquatic facilities have started to put measures in place, including closing to the public.

At this stage VenuesWest haven’t provided any indication that the pool will be closing so it is training as usual for now.

We will provide updates and information as soon as we know more.

Again if you are unwell to any level then please dont attend training.

If you have any further queries or concerns please dont hesitate to contact the office on (08) 6424 9090.
