Clean sweep for Irvine
Published Tue 17 May 2016
Tamara Irvine has claimed a clean sweep at the weekends 2016 Diving WA State Junior Elites at HBF Stadium, taking out the Junior A Girls 1m, 3m and Platform events.
The highlight was the Platform event where Irvine finished ahead of fellow WAIS divers Nikita Hains and Teju Williamson. This was hotly contested with the results going down to the wire with both Irvine and Hains completing phenomenal final dives.
In the other state championship events, Hayley Galvin took out the National Elite Performance Pathway (NEPP) Level 1, Eloise Miller the NEPP Level 2 and Jorja McCall and Zoe Langtry the NEPP Level 1 Synchro.
The three WAIS divers and coach Mat Helm are now preparing for the 2016 Australian Open Diving Championships at Aquanation, VIC from 26th-29th May. This event also doubles as the Rio Olympic Trials for the Australian Team, while the DWA NEPP divers are preparing for the 2016 Junior Elite Nationals, being held in Adelaide, SA from 8th-10th July.
