Career Opportunity - National Talent Coach

Diving WA is currently accepting expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals for the role of National Talent Coach. Reporting to the Diving WA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the National Talent Coach will be based at HBF stadium in Mount Claremont and is responsible for coaching and managing athletes selected in the WA National Talent Program (NTP).

The role will also provide leadership and mentoring to coaches within the DWA programs and assist with the promotion and delivery of the sport. A close working relationship with the CEO and the WAIS Diving Head Coach, together with ensuring strong relationships with existing and potential stakeholders will be essential to the successful delivery of this position.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coaching and Management of the WA NTP Squad;
  • Active involvement in the identification of divers for all programs;
  • Mentor and lead Diving WA coaches across all programs;
  • Communicate in a professional manner with parents, volunteers, coaches, and stakeholders on a regular basis;
  • Assist DA with the ongoing development and implementation of the Elite Athlete Pathway; and

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum Diving Australia Level 2 Coaching Accreditation (or overseas equivalent);
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and developing athletes at an Elite level for a minimum of 2 years;
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills;
  • High level of self-motivation and ability to work independently;
  • Current First Aid and Drivers Licence; and
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours and to travel, as and when required.

This is a full-time role working 38 hours per week (24 hours coaching, 14 hours administration) for an initial 2-year contract with an annual review undertaken at the end of each competition season. A competitive salary plus super will be offered and it is anticipated that the successful candidate will commence as soon as possible. including access to professional development opportunities and Employee Assistance Program.
