Bronzed West AussiesÂ

Its been a strong start for the WA team, claiming 4 Bronze medals on Day 1 of the 2018 Australian Junior Elite Championships in Hobart.

The Junior C Girls kicked off the competition in the 1m Springboard, with Hayley Galvin (279.15) claiming the Bronze. Jemima Officer (7th 264.00) and Georgia Williams (12th 230.90) also dived well in this event.

The Junior B Girls Platform followed and Chelsea Bosch (301.50) was able to come away with the Bronze Medal in a strong performance.

Our biggest group of athletes was in the NEPP Level 1 event, where Makisha Smith and Brooke Carter both finished tied for the Bronze Medal (129.00) in what was an extremely close event. Sarah Boulton (5th 128.00), Aubrie Walker (7th 126.50), Eva Ryan (8th 126.00), Eleanor Williams (10th 124.00) and Olivia Maitland (11th 123.00) also dived well and did themselves and their state proud.

The action continues tomorrow on Day 2 of competition, with WA athletes in the Junior B Girls 3m, NEPP Level 2, Girls Junior C Platform, NEPP Level 1 Synchro and Girls Junior Synchro.
