Board and Committee member updates
Published Tue 14 May 2024
Diving WA is delighted to welcome Chris Straughan onto the Board as an Independent Director. Chris has worked across multiple industries, Mining and Resources, Government contracts, Oil and Gas, Aged Care, Agriculture, Agribusiness, and Retail. With this, Chris is recognized for his high level of capability in the knowledge, skills, and experience required to assist organizations in recognising the link between HR issues, business strategy, and performance.
Following 3 and a half years in position, Mark Massey has stepped down from his Governance & Risk Committee role with Diving WA. Throughout his time, Mark has provided the committee and in turn the organisation with independent advice and expertise and we thank Mark for his time provided to DWA in this volunteer capacity.
The recruitment process for the vacant Diving WA Governance & Risk Committee roles has now been completed and we welcome both Chris Vale and Phoebe Moore to the DWA Governance & Risk Committee. Their proficiency in Risk and Governance will provide expert knowledge and support to the organisation in this sector.
The Diving WA would like to recognise and thank both Heather McGregor-Bayne and Libby Fulham who recently stepped down from their positions on the Board. We thank them both for their service and contributions to Diving WA during their tenure.
The recruitment to fill the vacant elected and independent Board positions is currently underway and updates will be provided when these roles have been filled, to ensure the Diving WA Board composition continues to operate with diversity, expertise, experience, and independence.
