On the 3rd and 4th December Diving WA held its final event for 2016, the Christmas Invitational and End of Year Splash BBQ.

There was some fantastic diving throughout the weekend with a number of qualifying scores achieved for 2017 Age and Elite Junior Nationals. 

For some this was also their first competition and we would like to make a special mention to our Masters group who have only been training in the newly formed Adults and Teens Program since October 2016 and gave it a go.

2016 also saw the addition of the Team Synchro event which was taken out by team GST Splat of Sophie Vassileff, Georgia WIlliams and Tessa Wagstaff. The girls were the youngest team in the field but showed some great synchro diving to come out on top.

No Christmas invitational would be complete without the Teams Tussle to round out the weekend, which gave all participants a chance to have some fun in the pool with some games and Prizes.

The weekend finished with the End of Year Splash BBQ, which this year saw over 100 people attend. Everyone enjoyed a sausage sizzle and an ice cream, and the kids were lucky enough to have a visit from Santa who brought along some presents.
