Warrilow Sproule Cup

Sue Warrilow (nee Sproule) designed this competition with Bruce Prance to provide more variety in the competitions available and donated the trophy for the event to Diving WA.

Sue started diving at age 12 at Claremont Baths in 1961. Sue also dived with Robyn Arlow and was coached by Bruce Prance. She started as a high board diver but finished her career as mostly a springboard diver. As a junior she won a National Springboard title, and silver in platform.  The following year she missed the junior titles due to injury but went on to open nationals and on the 3m springboard event. Sue Stayed involved after her diving career on the Diving WA committee and as a judge.

Divers are seeded (depending on number of athletes entered). Of recent years we have used the first round as the seeding round.

Round 1 is a ranking round where the top 8 athletes progress to the next round and those athletes finishing 9th and higher go through to the Consolation Plate.

Round 2 (Quarter Finals) will be 1 v 8, 5 v 4, 3 v 6 and 7 v 2. Winning athletes will progress to Round 3 Semifinals and defeated athletes going through to Round 4, Finals of the Consolation Plate.

Round 3 (Semi-Finals) will be 1 v 4 and 3 v 2 . Winners of the 2 pairs will go through to Round 5 the Warrilow-Sproule Cup, defeated athletes are out of the competition.

Round 4 Finals of the Consolation Plate (divers from Round 1 and defeated athletes from Round 2). 1st placed athlete is the winner of Warrilow-Sproule Consolation Plate

Round 5 Finals of the Warrilow-Sproule Cup (Final 2 athletes from Round 3, 1 v 2). Winner receives the Warrilow-Sproule Cup.
