2020 will see another exciting chapter in the Bradshaw Shield and Tilbrook Trophy.

Along with these historical events there will also be Age Qualifiers, Elite Qualifiers, Novice Challenge and Skills Champs

Bradshaw Shield (Robyn Arlow)

The Bradshaw Shield was donated and set up by City Swimming Club in recognition of Robyn's selection to the Australian Diving Team. Robyn won multiple Junior and Open National Titles and represented Australia at the 1964 and 1968 Olympic Games. She also won a Silver Medal in the Womens Platform at the 1966 Commonwealth Games. Following her diving career, Robyn judged a state, national and international events and also began coaching. Robyn left Perth ifor Syndey where she was the Technical Operations Manager for the Sydney Olympics.

Requirements: 

Open                   5 dives from 4 groups  (3m Springboard)

16/18 Years        4 dives from 3 groups   (3m Springboard)

14/15 Years        3 dives from 3 groups   (1m and/or 3m Springboard)

13/U Years          3 dives from 2 groups    (1m and/or 3m Springboard)

Rules: 

Teams will consist of 4 divers, with one diver representing the team in each age division.

If required, divers may compete for their team in an older age group than which they belong.

No diver may compete in a younger age group than which they belong.

Points will be awarded to the team after each competition round for the following placings in that age group:

1st = 8 points        2nd = 5 points      3rd = 3 points      4th = 1 point

The team with the highest accumulated points after all rounds is the winner

Additional Notes:

Each team will be formed with a mixture of divers across all age groups and squads

Coaches will consult on process for creating teams with the intent to ensure fairness and general equality across all.

Teams will be assigned colours, and create team names. All divers are encouraged to enthusiastically represent and support their team on the day!

 

Tilbrook Trophy - Raelene (Tilbrook) Lyon

The trophy was donated to Diving WA by the West Perth Swimming Club to commemorate Raelene Tilbrook’s selection into the Australian Diving Team for the 1975 World Cup.  The event was held in Cali, Columbia, where Raelene finished 13th on 3 metre.  Now, our first-year divers compete annually for the honour of having their name added to the Tilbrook trophy, which has become a part of Diving WA history.

Requirements: 

4 dives from 3 groups   (1m and/or 3m Springboard)

Rules:

This competition is for First Year Competitive Divers only.

A diver is classified as being a “First Year Competitive Diver” during the 12 months after competing in a State or National Championships for the first time, including:

  • WA Age, Elite Junior and Open Championships;
  • Australian School, Age, Elite Junior and Open Championships; or
  • Equivalent Interstate or International Championships.

A diver may compete in this event prior to their first State or National Championships.

No diver may compete in this event on more than one occasion.
