Warrilow-Sproule Cup 2024

The Warrilow-Sproule Cup is an exciting 2 day knockout event where athletes compete 5 dives from the 3m springboard. All 5 dives must be from a different group. * All rounds of the Warrilow-Sproule compeittion are also State ratified qualifciation for the 2024 Diving Australia Open Championships, should an athlete met the required criteria. *
Along with this historical event, there will also be State ratifed qualification sections for the 2024 Diving Australia Age Group Championship, State Skills Champs and a Novice Challenge event.

Late Entries will incur a late fee and athlete diving by invitation (invitation for Warrilow-Sproule) - Late Entries close Tuesday 3rd December 2024
Divers must submit their dives on DiveRecorder by close of business on Tuesday 3rd December 2024.

Warrilow Sproule Cup
Divers are seeded (depending on number of athletes entered). Of recent years we have used the first round as the seeding round.
Round 1* is a ranking round where the top 8 athletes progress to the next round and those athletes finishing 9th and higher go through to the Consolation Plate.
Round 2* (Quarter Finals) will be 1 v 8, 5 v 4, 3 v 6 and 7 v 2. Winning athletes will progress to Round 3 Semifinals and defeated athletes going through to Round 4, Finals of the Consolation Plate.
Round 3* (Semi-Finals) will be 1 v 4 and 3 v 2 . Winners of the 2 pairs will go through to Round 5 the Warrilow-Sproule Cup, defeated athletes are out of the competition.
Round 4* Finals of the Consolation Plate (divers from Round 1 and defeated athletes from Round 2). 1st placed athlete is the winner of Warrilow-Sproule Consolation Plate
Round 5* Finals of the Warrilow-Sproule Cup (Final 2 athletes from Round 3, 1 v 2). Winner receives the Warrilow-Sproule Cup.
Age Qualifiers
- For athletes in the Age Pathway.
- Athletes will compete in their relevant age group (Age as at the end of the year of the next National Championships - 2025).
- Information on dives for the relevant age groups can be found here.
Novice Challenge
* Great event for 1st timer competititots
* Athletes from Learn-to-Dive and Entry squad
* x6 Skills
This event is designed to be an introductory competition with divers showing fundamental skills while gaining valuable competition experience. This will run as 1 event with 3 separate rotations of stations (poolside/1/2m platform/1m springboard)
Skills Champs
- Open to all athletes in the Age and Elite Pathway.
- An all-round competition, with poolside, boards and water skills. The focus of the competitions is building a strong technical base for development athletes. A diver will compete in this event until they are ready to meet the requirements of their target Championships (age or elite).
* Pre-National Skills (9 skills) Pre-National is the first event in the Skills Championships pathway. It is designed as a preparation event for National level where divers can demonstrate correct technique on skills/dives, building the foundations for their diving careers
* National Skills (12 skills) This event in the Skills Championships mimics Diving Australia's National Skills Finals (NSF), a national event ran by Diving Australia. The competition assesses several skills in the pool and aims to develop the next generation of divers by giving young developmental divers a rounded technical base
* Advanced Natinal Skills (x5 divers per board) Advanced National is the final event in the Skill Championships pathway and entereis are per board (1m, 3m, Platform). This event is designed to prepare a diver for Australian Age Championships or Australian Elite Junior Championships. A diver will compete in this event after they have gained all technical elements and experience from National level and until they are ready to meet the requirements of their target Championships (age or elite).
Coaches will inform divers which events to enter and when ready to enter - please ensure you have had a chat with them beforehand
